Walking on Water

So, I’m gradually getting back into the poetry scene. I joined and donated to the Academy of American Poets; I rejoined AllPoetry.com, and I’m re-starting the Metaphysical Poetry Society. I guess it boils down to a choice: either you’re in or you’re out.

I mean, it’s not like poetry sells. So, there’s no danger in posting your poetry in various places for free. It’s not like one is going to miss out on some kind of monetary gain. So, I figure it’s safe to put yourself out there as a poet wherever you can. Because one is either in it for the art of it, or they might as well pack up their pen and paper and go home and forget about it. Either way is a legitimate option, I suppose.

But like riding my bicycle, or my motorcycle, poetry is one of the few things that actually makes me happy. So, I think it’s worth putting both feet in the water and seeing if I can walk on it—metaphorically speaking. 😊
